In 1962, Peter Gaffney and Ben Cline both had aspirations to start their own consultancy. Soon after, Gaffney, Cline & Associates opened its first office in Trinidad.

1970's
Natural gas and oil discoveries in the North Sea provided the keystone to our operations and bolstered many new projects internationally.

1980's
In addition to establishing GCA in Singapore and Houston in the mid-1970's, the company continued to open more offices around the world in Washington, Sydney, Buenos Aires, and throughout the United Kingdom.

1990's
Gaffney, Cline & Associates recognizes numerous achievements, such as receiving the Queen’s Award, the Quality Assurance ISO9001 certification, and Peter Gaffney’s appointment as president of the Society of Petroleum engineers.

2000's
Gaffney, Cline & Associates is acquired by Baker Hughes to expand the corporation’s reach beyond the wellbore and into reservoir and asset management.

2010's
GaffneyCline formally launched its Carbon Management and Energy Transition offering in 2019, supporting clients with reducing their carbon intensity and assessing carbon capture, utilization and storage opportunities.
